Women-led documentation groups expand to three more states
Groups of women documenters, supported by the alliance, now work in six states — reaching accounts that would otherwise go unrecorded.
Some accounts are only ever given to another woman, and often only to one from the same community. Where that is true, a documentation network staffed entirely by outsiders records nothing.
The groups are trained, equipped and paid, and they decide themselves what is safe to collect and what is not. The alliance provides secure storage, verification support and legal advice; it does not direct their work.
