Alliance members complete joint documentation training
Documenters from member organisations spent a week on evidentiary standards, secure storage and survivor-centred interviewing.
Documentation is only as useful as it is rigorous. Over a week, documenters from member organisations worked through the standards that investigators and treaty bodies apply to submitted material: chain of custody, corroboration, metadata handling and the difference between what a witness saw and what they concluded.
Interviewing without harm
Half the programme dealt with interviewing itself — how to take an account without asking a survivor to relive it, how to record consent in a way that can be revoked later, and when not to take an account at all.
What comes next
Participants return to their own organisations with a shared template and a secure route for submitting material to the alliance's archive.
