Statement on restrictions facing civil society organisations
Registration requirements, banking restrictions and surveillance are closing the space civil society needs to operate at all.
Civil society organisations are being asked to operate under conditions that make lawful operation impossible: registration that is refused without reason, banking access withdrawn without appeal, and staff surveilled for doing work that is not a crime.
We call on the authorities to publish the criteria for registration decisions, restore banking access, and end the surveillance of organisations and their staff.
